About Knee Replacement Thailand
Last updated: September 2026
Why this site exists
Most websites about surgery abroad do one of two things: hide the price until you enquire, or list twenty clinics with no guidance and no accountability. This site does neither. It publishes real package prices from three named hospitals, cites registry data for risk, and says plainly what we do not know and what to ask instead.
The three questions that decide whether knee replacement in Thailand is right for you are the ones this site is built around: what it actually costs, how safe it really is, and what happens if something goes wrong. If the honest answer to any of them costs us a lead, we give it anyway. A patient who chooses surgery at home because our information was straight with them is a better outcome than one who travels on a half-truth.
Who is behind it
Knee Replacement Thailand is operated by Medidash Global, a Bangkok-based medical travel facilitator working with JCI-accredited and specialist hospitals in Thailand. Medidash Global was founded in 2026. Our office is at 1655 New Phetchaburi Road, Makkasan, Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400, Thailand.
We are a coordinator and patient advocate, not a medical provider. The main site is at medidashglobal.com, where we coordinate a wider range of treatments; this site covers knee and hip replacement in Bangkok only.
What we do, and what we do not
We do: arrange the surgeon assessment from your own X-rays, produce a fixed written quote with inclusions and exclusions stated, guide you through visa and travel, book airport transfers and accommodation near the hospital, provide an English-speaking coordinator with you in Bangkok, and coordinate follow-up once you are home. If you are not a suitable candidate, we tell you honestly.
We do not: perform surgery, employ surgeons, or operate a clinic or hospital. The hospitals provide the medical care: the surgery, the inpatient stay, in-hospital physiotherapy and the surgical record. Keeping those two lists distinct is a rule on every page of this site.
How we are paid
Medidash Global is paid a commission by the partner hospital. You pay no fee to us for arranging your treatment. We do not claim a price advantage over booking direct; the advantage is coordination and advocacy, and the package prices we publish are the rates we can actually deliver.
How we choose partner hospitals
We work with three hospitals in Bangkok: Bumrungrad International Hospital, Phyathai 2 Hospital and KDMS Hospital. Between them they cover the spectrum a knee patient actually faces: an international multispecialty flagship, a mid-priced multispecialty hospital with the bilateral package, and a dedicated bone and joint specialist with the lowest entry price and robotic capability.
We publish what each hospital is not the right choice for, on its own page. We do not list hospitals we do not work with, and we do not claim outcome data no Thai private hospital publishes. Where a fact comes from a hospital's own materials rather than independent verification, the page says "the hospital states".
Editorial and medical review policy
Every medical or statistical claim on this site carries a named source and year, drawn from national joint registries (the UK's NJR, Australia's AOANJRR, the American Joint Replacement Registry), health services and guideline bodies (NHS, NICE, AAOS), and peer-reviewed journals. Prices come from one maintained data file, verified with the hospitals, and dated wherever they appear. If a claim cannot be sourced, it does not go on the site; where information only the hospitals hold is missing, the page says so and tells you what to ask.
Content is reviewed when registry annual reports are published, when hospital package terms change, and quarterly for currency conversions and links.

The reviewer's specialty is stated deliberately. We would rather show you an honest credential than an inflated one, and we are working to add an orthopaedic reviewer.
The one patient we quote
Steven Parker, UK, total knee replacement at KDMS in July 2026, is the only patient whose story appears on this site, with his written consent for his name, story, photographs and video. We do not use stock photos as patients, composite stories, or testimonials we cannot evidence. His full story is on the KDMS Hospital page.
